CZECH VISITORS AGREE: IT'S MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES
Czech visitors eager to learn more about the Philippines at Holiday World 2020 at PVA Expo Praha when the fair opened to the general public on 15 February 2020 (photo: Princess Nathalie R. Roll).
“We are very happy to see more Czechs getting interested in visiting the Philppines,” said Ambassador Ombra T. Jainal when Holiday World 2020 opened to the general public on 15 February 2020.
Visitors, with their families and friends, flocked to the PH stand to learn about the destinations in the Philippines, sights and activities, entry and stay regulations, travel time and accommodation, among others.
For visitors who had been to the Philippines, they came to share their beautiful experiences in the islands and to find out new destinations for future visits. “We’ve been to the Philippines many times and we want to know what else we can see,” said a couple.
Ambassador Jainal earlier expressed the same sentiments with some of the major travel and tours agencies when he visited their stands at the tourism trade fair on 14 February 2020. CK Livingstone (www.livingstone.cz), China Tours (www.chinatours.cz) and Nomád, s.r.o. (www.nomad.cz) conveyed to the Ambassador that their tours to the Philippines are always sold out. According to them, Czech tourists are amazed at the natural wonders of the Philippines, especially in Palawan, Cebu, Bohol and Boracay. Czechs also appreciate the man-made Banaue Rice Terraces and the culture and traditions of Filipinos in Northern Luzon.

PH EMBASSY PITCHES FOR A MORE FUN RETIREMENT IN THE PHILIPPINES AT HOLIDAY WORLD 2020 IN PRAGUE

Ambassador Ombra T. Jainal led the Philippine Embassy team in marketing a more fun holiday and retirement for young and senior citizens of the Czech Republic in the Philippines at Holiday World 2020 at PVA Expo Praha on 13-16 February 2020.
At the tourism trade fair, Ambassador Jainal met with Ms. Marie Bardounová, Head of the Sales Department of Delfin Travel, a Czech company specializing in tours for citizens over 55 years old. Ms. Bardounová was pleased to know of the Philippine Government’s Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRR Visa) program and assured the Ambassador that the program will be conveyed to the company’s product management division.
Visitors to the PH stand, especially those who have traveled to different destinations in the Philippines and experienced the hospitality of Filipinos, were interested to know more on the benefits of retiring in the Philippines.
An Austrian citizen expressed his excitement to finally be able to retire in the Philippines with the SRRV. He stated that it was perhaps serendipitous that he passed through the door where the SRR Visa standee was located as he had been looking for ways to stay longer in the Philippines for some time now. He previously visited Cebu and Bohol.
Some visitors were surprised to know that they can retire in the Philippines as early as 35 years old and with only a minimum amount of investment.

PRAGUE 13 February 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Prague conducted a meeting with the Filipino community on 07 February 2020 in preparation for the Embassy’s participation in the Holiday World 2020 at the PVA Expo Praha in Prague 9, Letnany from 13 to 16 February 2020.
Filipinos in the Czech Republic, as genuine spokespersons of their respective towns and provinces in the Philippines, were invited to bring their non-Filipino friends and colleagues to the Philippine stand at the event. Interested Filipinos intending to bring their Czech friends and colleagues were told to send their e-mail addresses to the Embassy for complimentary tickets.
Holiday World 2020 is the biggest tourism trade fair of the Czech Republic.The Philippines, through the Embassy of the Philippines in Prague, is participating for the first time. END

PH Ambassador Thanks Happy Hearts Czech for Rebuilding Primary School in Cagayan, Philippines
Ambassador Ombra T. Jainal joined friends and donors of Happy Hearts Czech in a Charity Cocktail at Hotel Carlo IV on 23 January 2020 to raise funds to rebuild safe and resilient schools in areas affected by natural disasters.
Ms. Karolina Bosakova, Director of Happy Hearts Czech, stated that the organization intends to rebuild a primary school in Cagayan province (north of the Philippines) which was affected by Typhoon Mangkhut in September 2018. Funds raised will be utilized to rebuild seven classrooms and refurbish four standing classrooms and toilet blocks in the school which accommodates 170 students, aged 6 to 12 years old.
Happy Hearts Czech is a partner of the American All Hands and Hearts – Smart Response organization.
PH Ambassador Participates in the 17th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Prague
Ambassador Ombra T. Jainal participated in the 17th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Prague at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador in Prague on 23 January 2020.
The meeting discussed the accomplishments of the ACP during the last semester and the joint activities for 2020. The Ambassadors from the six member states also exchanged views on the political and economic developments in the Czech Republic, and how to strengthen the relations of ASEAN and the host country.
The 17th ACP concluded the Thai Chairmanship and turned it over to Indonesia for the period January to June 2020.
