Some 30 members of the Filipino community in the Czech Republic participated in the webinar on Mental Health: Resilience in the Time of COVID-19 Pandemic via Zoom videoconference on 27 March 2021.
Ambassador Ombra T. Jainal expressed his appreciation for the innate resilience of the Filipino community in the Czech Republic, and encouraged them to use the tools provided to them to not only survive difficult times, but also to thrive amidst the challenging conditions. He stated that “resilience is not merely limited to the ability to recover from change, stress or misfortune, but also as a tool for creating or developing new perspectives and finding new sources that would enable a woman or man to live in a better state.”
Dr. Štěpán Vymětal, Forensic and Disaster Psychologist of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, provided the participants with the necessary web-based resources and virtual assistance from both the Czech and Philippine Governments for assessing and maintaining mental well-being.
Members of the community were able to exchange views with the resource speaker on mental health during the open forum.
