Philippine mango products (dried fruit, candy, juice, slices in syrup) and freshwater and south sea pearls were sold at a brisk pace during the 2019 International Christmas Festival of the Diplomatic Spouses Association (DSA) in Prague at the Hotel Hilton on 01 December 2019.

Customers raved about the candied mangoes with tamarind, with many of them intrigued with how the tropical fruit tamarind looks like and tastes like when mixed with mangoes. The product was the first to be sold out.

The Embassy of the Philippines in the Czech Republic participated in this year’s edition of the Christmas Festival with two separate stands: one, for Philippine mangoes at the main hall and two, for Philippine pearls at the adjacent Salon Roma. Hotel Hilton ensured a secure space for the Philippine pearls due to their value.

At separate times during the event, Czech Foreign Affairs Minister Tomáš Petříček and Mrs. Monika Babisova visited the Philippine stand for mangoes.

This year, the Embassy of the Philippines contributed Kc47,950.00 from its total sales to the DSA Prague, which will in turn donate the sum to selected charity organizations in the Czech Republic. END.
